Sociovera: Journal of Social, Family, and Community Dynamics Studies is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published works. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism and similarity screening as part of the journal's editorial process.

The following policies apply:

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin or an equivalent plagiarism-detection tool.
  • The journal generally considers a similarity score of 20% or below, excluding properly quoted material and the reference list, to be within the acceptable range for further editorial consideration.
  • A similarity score above the stated threshold may result in the manuscript being returned to the authors for revision and clarification before the peer-review process.
  • Similarity scores are evaluated contextually. A low similarity score does not automatically indicate the absence of plagiarism, while a higher score does not necessarily constitute plagiarism. Editors may examine the sources and nature of the matched text to determine whether there is inappropriate overlap.
  • Manuscripts containing substantial, unattributed, or intentional plagiarism may be rejected without further review.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources, quotations, paraphrased materials, ideas, data, and other borrowed content are properly acknowledged and cited.
  • If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are discovered after publication, Sociovera may investigate the case and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable COPE guidelines. Depending on the severity of the misconduct, actions may include issuing a correction, publishing an editorial notice, or retracting the article.
  • Authors are expected to cooperate fully with any investigation concerning suspected plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct.

Sociovera reserves the right to make the final determination regarding suspected plagiarism based on the similarity report, editorial assessment, source analysis, and applicable publication ethics standards.
